عن العمل
Yasser Arafat, a Palestinian leader and politician, was a refugee and one of the founders of the Palestinian Liberation Organization. In this artwork, Faroukh portrays Arafat wearing military attire and the keffiyeh, a symbol of masculinity and elegance, which also represents olive branches, strength, resilience, perseverance, and a fishing net.As Arafat began to show signs of aging, Palestinians gave him the nickname "Al-Khityar," an Arabic word that means a man of old age and great value. For many years, Arafat refused to marry, insisting that he was dedicating his time to the Palestinian cause.
