Abdallah Hammad
Visual Artist
Abdullah Mohammad is a contemporary visual artist from Aida Refugee Camp – Bethlehem. Born in 1999, he is a contemporary art student at Dar Al-Kalima University. He has started his art practice at a young age, and continued to expand his means of expression and communication. In addition to his artistic work, he volunteers at the Aida Refugee Camp Youth Center, where he participates in projects with children as well as local and international artists.
Abdallah has taken part in several workshops and exhibitions, including the woodcut printing workshop with Marsma 301 — Artists Group in Bethlehem. He also participated in the community contemporary art workshop and exhibition “The Path Is Not Ruged”, which took place in Aida Refugee Camp, as well as “The Palestinian Sunbird” art exhibit in Portugal, as well as the “December Events” exhibition in Bethlehem.
In addition, Abdallah has completed several murals, including two big murals painted in Aida Camp representing the friendship and twinship with two cities in France as part of a twinning project. Among his most notable murals in the camp is the mural of Mrs. Mazyouna, the mother of Palestinian prisoner Nasser Abu Srour, who is serving a life sentence in Israeli Prisons.
Furthermore, Abdallah has curated an exhibition for women artists from Gaza, titled “Lilies from Gaza”, at Dar Al-Kalima University. Recently he offered a training session about the woodcut artwork for graphic design students at Palestine Ahliya University.
