The Poster/Print will be Signed by Ahmed and printed either on Enhanced Matte Paper (189)
or on a Gloss Canvas. If you choose gloss canvas print, please note that it is preferred to be stretched on a wood-frame, not placed in a typical photo glass-frame. So we will be printing it with an extra (6 cm/ 2 inch) on the surrounding margins in order to allow enough room for stretching. This means that the whole canvas dimensions will be: 76 X 56 cm.
“Kafka in Palestine كافكا في فلسطين” was created in Washington DC. I made this stencil after conducting a study of Franz Kafka’s literary work. Surprisingly, there are many parallels between his surrealistic symbols and the current reality in Palestine. As a Palestinian, everyday life in Palestine is a Kafkaesque. In this stencil, I bring Kafka to my Palestinian reality to witness the Israeli Occupation. As a famous Jewish writer—who is considered by Zionists as “a part of the Israeli national heritage”—it is important to articulate Kafka as anti-Zionist because his literature is a n obvious criticism of colonialism.
