The Apartheid Wall in the Future
Acrylic on canvas, (30″ X 41″) inches, 2018
Exhibited at the Museum of the Palestinian People (MPP) in Washington D.C.
The work is inspired by the work of Rainer Fetting, First Painting of the Wall, 1977. Städel Museum, Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
“Ahmed’s diverse collection” features random works painted/drawn by Ahmed Hmeedat. The works vary from figure drawings with charcoal, still-life, Palestinian landscapes, murals of political or intellectual figures, and digital art.
Hmeedat has painted these works through different periods of his life. Some of these paintings were painted in Bethlehem before he moved to the United States of America in 2015, to start his legal studies at Syracuse University.. While he was in the US, he also created some art, particularly during his art residency at the Museum of the Palestinian People in Washington, DC.
