You are cordially invited to a to a special webinar titled, “Music Instrument Creation: The Story of Murad Odah, the Oud Maker,” on Saturday, May 24th, 2025, at 12:00 PM Washington DC Time/ 7:00 PM Jerusalem Time. In this event we will host an artist and oud maker, Morad Odah, from Dheisheh Refugee Camp – Bethlehem.
With his extensive professional social work experience, Murad integrates that in the art of Oud creation. Each Oud he builds has a story that documents not only the instrument made but also capturing the atmosphere where the instrument is built.
In this event, we will learn from Murad, his story with oud, how he began, and why he chose this unprecedented and challenging path.
The Webinar will be moderated by:
Yusuf Abudi, the Consortium’s Counselor.
Laura Kandle, a Museum expert.
- Ahmed Hmeedat, the Consortium Founder.
The discussion will highlight a number of oud-instruments that Murad has created in the past few years, his story with some of them, and how his oud workshop is open to the refugee community and beyond.
Towards the end of the webinar, we will open the floor for an interactive Q&A session, allowing the audience to engage directly with our panelists.
We look forward to your participation in this unique event celebrating the art of activism.
